About
Popular Brussels wisdom says that if you don’t leave three years after you got here, you will stay for at least 10 years… and if after 10 years you’re still here…
Well, I’m not quite there yet, but given the growing amount of questions and requests for tips and recommendations on what to do, where to go, and how to plan weekend escapades from Brussels, I thought I’d just use this central location to share some of the discoveries I have made and keep on making every now and then, and that make life in and around Brussels…… what it is.
So what’s in this blog?
Just some random tips and ideas of things to do and places to go in Brussels and its “surroundings”, using a broad definition of the term, i.e., Paris, London, Amsterdam, and pretty much any city that can be easily reached by train or plane from Brussels!
Feedback and requests
Your feedback and comments are most welcome. If you have any specific questions about things to do and places to see and to go eat, drink, etc. in Brussels and beyond, just post them and I will try to respond with a relevant post.

Thanks for the great tips! I’ll be adding this to my blogroll!
Great information thanks so much! My husband and I have been living in Brussels for 2 years now and still did not know about some these places. Excited to learn more about Brussels…
Thanks! I only post every so often about some of the places and things I hear about or go to, so if you ever have any questions or need any specific recommendations, feel free to ask!
Hi, your blog is a great source of information and we were lucky to find it while doing our Brussels pre-departure research last summer.
Anyway, we recently posted a a Report from our trip to Brussels (http://www.bookstoreguide.org/2008/09/report-from-brussels.html), which describes our impressions of the local anglophone bookstore scene. We thought that you may find the article interesting for your readers as well. If you like it, you’re more than welcome to add a link and use any parts of the article in your blog.
Cheers,
Ivan & Sonja
This is great content. Most of the “BXL knowledge” sites out there are either full of guff or else the info is totally obsolete.
I could have done with finding your site a few months ago when we first arrived here, rather than stumbling upon it only now and almost by chance, but it’s really welcome anyway!
Thank you!
Mike
would you like to exchange site links?
i write about brussels, from an expats pov.
Dear Sir/Madam:
I am writing to ask if you would consider posting a link and description of our expat Halloween party (http://www.halloweenbrussels.com) on your blog.
We think it will be of interest to your readers.
With best regards,
Kevin
